Wow today was a long, but good day.
Reasons why today was awesome
1. We broke the "record" for most rides ridden in a day
Previous Record: 34
Record as of today: 62 rides ridden in a single day
Why this is even more impressive: the park was only open 10:00-5:30.
2. I didn't throw up. Not once.
Why this is impressive: I was really close. A lot of times. Nauseaed almost all day long.
3. We didn't have to worry about the car being towed, booted, or broken into unlike the previous day.
4. No waits. At all. Got to ride multiple rides, multiple times without even getting up.
5. Got a super cute picture with Snoopy AND he made a kissing noise before I walked away.
6. Rode the Stage Coach
7. Watched a funny Western Stunt Show, which bashed both Disneyland AND Six Flags
8. Didn't lose anything. And lip gloss ($7.50 a tube) is very easy to lose.
9. Opened up the Log Ride (one of my favorites) before closing so it was our last ride of the day.
Why this is even more awesome: We didn't even get wet.
10. I watched a really cool Native American hoop dance
11. I got a really funny voicemail from Richie. It was really great. Said something to the effect of: "Hi Megan with Jacques and Associates. I haven't received a call back and that is not good customer service, ect." It was so great. So I called him back and we talked for a bit.
12. I made my mom's day with a text:My text: "DO NOT be jealous you aren't here at Knotts today. Its 11:30 (the park opened at 10) and we have ridden like 20 rides.. I am definitely throwing up at least once today. Stupid Henriksens... His competitive spirit is definitely coming out. I have almost thrown up like 6 times. Haven't yet. Yet.
Her reply: "Hanging in there? Your text made my day:)"
14. This one is cool. As we were standing by the gate waiting for the park to open Knotts began to play the national anthem, as they do every morning. Early into the song, the music stopped. There was a moment of silence and then a man started singing where the song left off. Right after, people joined in--including me and my dad. More and more people joined in and when the song finished, we finished strong. It was a really powerful, patriotic moment. After we finished the song, there was a moment of quiet and then everyone applauded and cheered--and then we began pushing through the gates. It was a great way to start the day.
15. My dad and I had a really great day together.
So, as you've read, it was a great day. My dad and I are currently driving to Lone Pine, California where he grew up for the Lone Pine Film Festival.
Playing in college football tonight is Utah State University (YAY!!) and BYU (boo!). We are listening to the game on the drive and it is pretty intense. Both my dad and I really like our schools. REALLY like our schools. I am wearing my Utah State shirt (pictured below) and rooting hard for my Aggies. I LOVE my Utah State. BYU annoys me, both the school policies and the fans.. (Don't tell my dad I said that ;) )
My world won't be over if we lose, but it would make me REALLY REALLY REALLY HAPPY if we won. I'd even try not to gloat. I'd do my best, anyways.
The score: BYU (boo!): 6 Utah State (YAY!): 3
I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN.
Some BYU (boo!)/Utah State (YAY!) Tweets that made me smile:
"Hey #ProvoGirls don't get jealous when you see our Gorgeous #Aggie fans roll up. They will leave soon. With all your dignity. #BeatBYU"
(See FedEx/BYU pic) "Both of these logos have utilized negative space to more fully communicate their brand outlook. #BeatBYU" (If you don't get it, FedEx uses a sideways arrow (from the E to the X) the Y picture has an arrow pointing down. Therefore, BYU stinks. ;)</p>
....Still 6-3 :(
..... Utah State lost. 6-3. I don't want to talk about it. BYU (boo) still sucks. True story.
Anyways, on the upside, made it to Lone Pine. Played with three puppies. Told the story about finding my dog. Showed pictures of my dog, and then talked to Richie for 67 minutes :)
Great way to end the day!
Oh and your quote is an attached picture.. Enjoy!
